You don’t need closure from them. You need interru You don’t need closure from them.
You need interruption from yourself.Quietly Disruptive Leadership™ isn’t about changing other people.
It’s about changing how we respond to them.Because in teams, this shows up everywhere.A comment lands wrong.
Someone doesn’t reply.
A tone feels off.And just like that—
we’re not in the moment anymore. We’re in the story. So I started getting curious…
Why do we respond the way we do?
And why is it so hard to let things go?Here’s what I’ve learned:We don’t actually process what happens to us.
We replay it.Over and over.
Same story. Same reaction. Same emotional loop. And in a team?
That replay doesn’t stay internal. It leaks.Into how we speak.
How we interpret.
How quickly we shut down or push back.Suddenly it’s not one moment—
it’s tension, miscommunication, distance. And no one knows exactly why.Because no one is reacting to what’s happening.
They’re reacting to what it reminds them of.That’s why culture feels “off” sometimes.
Nothing big is wrong…
but everything feels a little strained.Quietly Disruptive Leadership™ teaches you to interrupt that loop. Not by fixing people.
But by noticing your own pattern in real time.Because when one person changes their response—
the whole dynamic shifts.And that’s how teams change.#HumanCenteredLeadership #FemaleKeynoteSpeaker #CanadianMotivationalSpeaker #LeadershipWithHeart #WorkplaceConnection
Quietly Disruptive Leadership™ doesn’t try to chan Quietly Disruptive Leadership™ doesn’t try to change the circumstances of your job or the people in it. It changes your response to them. And that changes everything. You’re not reacting to what happened. You’re reacting to what it meant to you. That’s where leaders get into trouble.Someone pushes back in a meeting. A team member shuts down. A deadline gets missed. And just like that—your body decides what it means. They don’t respect me.
I’m losing control.
This always happens. Now you’re not leading the situation… you’re defending yourself from a story. Most leadership advice tells you to stay calm. But calm isn’t something you force. It shows up when you separate two things:What actually happened
vs
What your brain made it meanWhen you can do that in real time, everything shifts. You stop taking things personally. You get curious instead of controlling. You see people as they are—not through your stress. The meeting isn’t the problem. The missed deadline isn’t the problem. The meaning you attach to it… that’s what shapes your response. And when you change your response—you don’t fall behind. You actually show up better. This is what we tease apart in a keynote. Not in theory—but in real, relatable moments—so leaders can actually see their patterns and understand what’s driving their reactions in the room.Quietly Disruptive Leadership™ is catching yourself before your assumptions take over the room.If your culture feels off but you can’t quite name why… this is usually where it starts.
You don’t lack confidence. You’re just showing up You don’t lack confidence.
You’re just showing up on autopilot. That hesitation before you speak.
That second-guessing after you do.
That feeling of holding back in moments that matter. It’s not a confidence problem. It’s a pattern. Most of us are running old, automatic responses—
trying to get it right, not rock the boat, stay liked. And without realizing it,
we shrink.Quietly Disruptive Leadership™ is about interrupting that. Not becoming someone else—
but finally seeing the patterns that keep you from showing up fully.Because the moment you see it…
you can choose differently.Disrupt autopilot and lead human.
Here’s my new demo reel. This one matters to me. Here’s my new demo reel. This one matters to me.
Because for years, I didn’t realize how often I wasn’t actually there.I’d be in conversations…
with people I care about…and my mind would be somewhere else.Planning. Thinking ahead. Managing.Missing the moment that was right in front of me.And it’s not just me.Research shows we’re on autopilot 47% of the time.Almost half our lives…
we’re not fully present. That hit me.So I started paying attention to my own patterns—
interrupting the habits that pulled me out of connection. Not perfectly.
But intentionally. And over time, everything changed. How I listen.
How I lead.
How I show up with people. Now I bring that work to the stage.Helping leaders disrupt autopilot and lead human—
so they stop missing the moments that actually matter. This 2-minute demo reel is a real look at that in action. If your culture looks fine on paper but feels off in real life, this will land.🎥 Watch here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I4r9kbWfb_o#HumanCenteredLeadership #FemaleKeynoteSpeaker #CanadianMotivationalSpeaker #LeadershipWithHeart #WorkplaceConnection #QuietlyDisruptiveLeadership #LeadHuman
You can know exactly what to say and still go quie You can know exactly what to say and still go quiet in the moment. You can understand emotional intelligence and still snap when you’re overwhelmed. You can learn every communication tool and still avoid the hard conversation. That’s not a knowledge problem. That’s pressure.Because under pressure, you don’t rise to what you know—you fall to what’s automatic. Most people don’t lack emotional depth—they just lack the skills to communicate it.And those skills aren’t built in calm moments. They’re built in real ones. This is where Quietly Disruptive Leadership™ comes in.It’s about interrupting the unconscious patterns that take over when stress is high so you can actually access what you already know.Mastery isn’t more information. It’s implementation under pressure. If your team understands what to do but isn’t doing it when it matters, that’s not a training issue. It’s a pattern issue. This is the work I do in my keynote speeches.I don’t just share ideas—I make those invisible patterns visible so leaders can apply what they already know in real time. That’s where culture actually changes.#HumanCenteredLeadership #FemaleKeynoteSpeaker #CanadianMotivationalSpeaker #LeadershipWithHeart #WorkplaceConnection
Difficult behaviour isn’t personal. It just feels Difficult behaviour isn’t personal.
It just feels personal when it lands on you. Most people aren’t thinking, “How can I frustrate Jody today?”
They’re reacting—from stress, pressure, old habits, and patterns they don’t even see. That sharp tone.
The defensiveness.
The avoidance.It’s not about you.
It’s about their capacity in that moment.Quietly Disruptive Leadership™ starts here:We stop trying to fix or change the person…
and we start noticing our response to them.Because the moment you shift your response—
from reactive to aware,
from taking it personally to seeing it clearly—everything changes. The conversation changes.
The energy changes.
The outcome changes. You don’t need different people.
You need a different relationship to what they do.And that’s where real leadership begins.
I used to think I had to carry it all.Every det I used to think I had to carry it all.Every detail, person and mood in the room.Like some kind of emotional pack mule…
but hopefully with better hair.I thought being a “good leader” meant:
be everything to everyone
and somehow still be calm about it.Meanwhile, no one actually asked me to do that.No one pulled me aside and said,
“Hey Jody, can you take full responsibility for everyone’s feelings today? Appreciate it.”Even if they did,
I physically couldn’t.Quietly Disruptive Leadership™ taught me this is just a well worn stress habit.More realistically:You don’t need to carry people…
you need to see them. You don’t need to manage everything…
you need to be present for what’s real. And when you put down what was never yours to hold—you don’t fall behind.
You actually show up better. If you feel like you’re carrying too much right now…You probably are.Put one thing down today.
Just one.#HumanCenteredLeadership #LeadershipWithHeart #FemaleKeynoteSpeaker #CanadianMotivationalSpeaker
Why do we all want attention on the internet? And Why do we all want attention on the internet? And… are we just wasting our time?I asked myself that after checking my post like it might update faster if I stared at it.Refresh.
Nothing.
Refresh again… just in case it needed encouragement. It’s easy to judge it.“People just want attention.”But attention isn’t the problem. It’s the substitute.Because most of us aren’t actually looking for views. We’re looking for:
• connection
• validation
• proof we matter a littleAnd the internet hands it out in small, unpredictable doses.Which makes it… very hard to stop checking. So no, it’s not a waste of time. But it can become autopilot.Posting. Checking. Refreshing.
Tiny hit. Repeat. And somewhere in there,
we stop asking:“Am I sharing something real…
or just trying to feel something?”I see this with leaders too.We say we want engagement at work…
but we often settle for attention.Quick responses. Surface check-ins.
Busy conversations that don’t actually connect. Most people don’t lack emotional depth
they just lack the skills to communicate it.So we default to what’s easy to measure.Likes. Comments. Reactions.Quietly disruptive leadership is this:Pause before you post.
Pause before you respond.Ask:
Is this connection… or just attention?Because attention is quick. But connection?
That takes presence. This is the kind of pattern I break in my keynotes—
the ones that look normal… but quietly shape your culture.Disrupt autopilot.
Lead human.
