The convention will draw in thousands of RV owners and staff from across north america, giving them some of the best education around for this unique industry. Several workshop tracks are designed for Sales, Service, Parts, Rental, Dealers/ GM's and Young RV Executives.
RV dealers range in size, so depending on the dealership, some staff wear many hats. I will be presenting the motivational speech, I Love my Job, it's the People I Can't Stand in the service track. In the service side of an RV dealership, a lot of conflict can ensue.
Ultimately, service staff are fixing and servicing customer RV issues. Parts can be delayed and some customers may be shocked by a $10,000 service bill to fix their beloved RV. There is often a disconnect between the sales and service department. As an incentive to buy, a customer can feel misled by a sales person eager to sell an RV. In reality, some things are under warranty and covered when things go wrong. Leaving the service department to figure out how to satisfy an angry customer.
Typically, in a dealership, a service manager schedules RV appointments (and staff), Service writers write up the order for what service the vehicle needs, and Service Technicians service the vehicles.
I will also present the motivational speech, Follow Me I'm Right Behind You, How to Lead and Influence Others for the GM/ Dealer Principle/ Owners Track. An owner or general manager is responsible for sales, service, marketing, customer satisfaction and more. Many owners and general managers are very hands- on and involved in the day to day operations of the dealership.
I am looking forward to speaking at the RVDA convention, the opening motivational speaker is Scott McKain. This marketing genius will show dealers how to stand out in a competitive marketplace.
